A Leader Guided by Service, Ethics, and Global Unity
Francesco Arezzo, a distinguished orthodontist, entrepreneur, and lifelong Rotarian from Sicily, Italy, has been appointed as the Rotary International President for the 2025–26 Rotary year, beginning 1 July 2025. With over three decades of committed service, Arezzo brings to this role a deep passion for humanitarian impact, cultural engagement, and ethical leadership.
Rotary Journey and Service
Arezzo joined the Rotary Club of Ragusa in 1988 and has since served Rotary in numerous leadership capacities. His journey includes key positions such as RI Director, Vice Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, Chair of the 2023 Rotary International Convention in Melbourne, and representative roles at multiple district conferences. Known for his thoughtful leadership and inclusive approach, he is also a Learning Facilitator and a long-standing advocate for Rotary’s core values.
He is a Major Donor and Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation, reflecting his enduring commitment to Rotary’s mission of creating lasting change in communities worldwide.
Professional and Cultural Background
Professionally, Francesco Arezzo is a practicing orthodontist and an active member of several national and international dental associations, including the Italian, European, and American Orthodontic Societies. He serves as Vice President of the National Association of Italian Dentists in Ragusa.
Beyond dentistry, Arezzo is deeply involved in Sicilian agriculture, managing an enterprise that produces high-quality extra-virgin olive oil. His dedication to cultural heritage led him to establish the Ragusa chapter of the National Trust for Italy (FAI), which he led for seven years.
He has been honored as a Knight of Honor and Devotion in Obedience in the Sovereign Order of Malta, recognizing his service and values-driven leadership.
Presidential Theme – “Unite for Good”
Following the resignation of Rotary’s previously elected 2025–26 president, Arezzo was selected by the RI Board to step into this critical leadership role. His presidential theme, “Unite for Good,” underscores Rotary’s role as a global force for unity, service, and peace. It reflects his belief that Rotary must act as a bridge—bringing together people across cultures, generations, and ideologies for the common good.
Personal Life
Francesco is married to Anna Maria Criscione, a tourism entrepreneur. Together, they have two daughters—one of whom was a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Florida—and two grandchildren. He is an avid lover of classical opera, especially the works of Bellini, Puccini, Verdi, and Mozart.
